hello
We are a drinking club with a running problem.
Global non-competitive running and a family social club in Chennai (Madras)!
The Hash House Harriers (HHH or H3) is an international group of non-competitive running social clubs. An event organized by a club is known as a Hash or Run, or a Hash Run. A common denominal verb for this activity is Hashing, with participants calling themselves Hashers. Male members are referred to as Harriers and females are known as Harriettes.
whose lives we’ve sprinted, jogged, stumbled through—and then fixed with a cold beer!
A definite unique experience.
Discover Chennai with us
We're on a mission to build a stronger future!! one run, walk, social hour, and beer at a time! Together, we’ll sprint, stroll, laugh, and drink our way to greatness!
Come see Chennai (Madras) like never before! Run (or mostly walk) through beautiful countryside, stumble upon hidden gems, and hang out with a bunch of people who are just as weird as you! Madras Hash House Harriers is the ultimate family-friendly hash, meeting every alternate Sunday afternoon. We’ll run (well, some of us run, most of us shuffle) for a couple of hours, then gather for a “circle” full of laughs, plenty of beer, dinner, and more laughs—because why not? Our hashers are a fun mix of visitors, expats, and Indian professionals—united by a love of running, walking, and most importantly, socializing with beer in hand!

Fun
Running, Hashing, and Having a Blast
At the Madras Hash House Harriers, we do things a little differently. Forget competitive running—here, it’s all about the journey, the laughs, and the post-run celebrations. Whether you're a runner, walker, or beer enthusiast, here’s what we do:
Set Unique Trails
Every run is different. Our “hares” (trail setters) map out fun and creative routes that take us through Chennai’s hidden gems—think urban jungles, beaches, villages, or even bustling city streets. Follow the marks, solve trails & don’t get lost (or do!)
Run (or Walk) at Your Own Pace
You don’t have to be a marathoner. Run, jog, walk, or stroll—everyone’s welcome, no matter your fitness level. Hashing is inclusive, relaxed, and completely non-competitive.
Socialize and Celebrate
After the run comes the best part—Circle Time! Hashers gather to sing songs, share laughs, hand out fun penalties, and enjoy some well-deserved drinks and snacks. Newcomers (“virgins”) get welcomed, and old-timers might just get roasted (all in good fun!).
Explore & Bond
We take hashing beyond Chennai’s borders with outstation weekends, special events like National & International runs, and holiday-themed trails. It’s all about camaraderie, adventure, and creating unforgettable memories.

The Mismanagement Team
At Madras Hash House Harriers, we take our "Mismanagement" to new heights! Our team is responsible for... absolutely nothing, but somehow they manage to keep things hilariously out of control. From setting confusing trails to forgetting the beer (or the bottle opener), they make sure every run is a memorable adventure. Their motto? "If it's not chaotic, it's not hashing!"
